X Factor Bosses Say Paula Abdul Is ‘Too Soft’
So what was the reason for Paula Abdul getting the boot from her judging and mentoring position on the X Factor? Well, bosses of the talent show have stated that after analysis of the entire season that took place in 2011, they were able to see what worked and what didn’t. In an effort to boost viewing and rating figures, a decision was made to alter the judging panel. With Paula Abdul’s kind attitude and relatively ‘vanilla’ approach, the bosses and also Simon have discovered that they need someone with a little more brutality for the 2012 series. In addition to this, bosses thought that Paula did not connect very well with her fellow judge, Nicole.
Abdul Speaks Out About X Factor Axing
Paula Abdul has not lost her temper because of the decision as of yet, but the multi-talented star did have something to say regarding her axing from the X Factor USA show. Paula spoke to sources recently saying ‘’business decisions oftentimes override personal considerations.” With Paula just getting involved in a new relationship, this may have come at the right time due to the fact that her previous relationship fell apart because of work commitments clashing.
Simon & Paula Remain Close Friends Besides X Factor Decision
Simon Cowell and Paula Abdul have been very close friends their whole lives, even being lovers at one point, as reports suggest. The X Factor creator has stated that although he made the difficult choice to axe Paula from her judging position and replace her with someone a little more interesting, he hopes to work with her in the future. Despite this, backstage sources said, ‘’There were a lot of angry words and I know Simon and Paula say they’re still friends, but there will have to be some time for that rift to heal.’’ So now all that is left to announce is whether or not L.A. Reid will keep his spot on the X Factor, and who will take the places of those axed?
