And Then There Were Four – The X Factor Contestants

Josh, Melanie, Marcus and Chris are the final four of theXFactor contestants left this season. And what a season this has been! TheXFactor has delivered the excitement, the drama, the tears and the heart break as promised. It has brought us the joy of office water cooler discussions, week after week. This week the dice rolls, America gets to decide and three of the contestants move into the finals to make history.

Let’s take a look at theXFactor contestants that have made it to the top four.

Chris Rene From TheXFactor

Chris has been the underdog of theXFactor this season, but he did belt out some powerful performances in the last two rounds. I really loved his version of Sugar Ray’s “Fly”. I am a big Sugar Ray fan, but Chris did a fine job holding his own. He struggles a bit when it comes to a big song or a bigger note in a mid-tempo song. Does he have the star quality though, that can push him over the wall? Maybe he does. He is definitely likable and audiences seem to react to him, but will that be enough?

Josh Krajcik From TheXFactor

Josh has a powerful personality and powerful rendering of any song. You wait for him hungry with expectation and he serves an excellent performance on a plate without fail. I like his Michael Jackson’s number, as much as his delivery of John Lennon’s number. He is probably ready for the stardom at this point. He definitely looks it when he performs on theXFactor.

Marcus Canty From TheXFactor

Marcus is the sweet young singer. While he is relatively young and inexperienced compared to other singers, he did pretty good on the R&B song, but failed to impress judges with his dance moves. By the way, I love ‘Careless Whispers’ by George Michael and Marcus didn’t do the song any justice. I do agree with Simon when he said that it reminded him of Vegas in 1983! I wonder how much of a song production can be controlled by the XFactor singer. In any case, the production didn’t help either. If I have to predict this week’s theXFactor result, Marcus will probably be saying his goodbyes.

Melanie Amaro From TheXFactor

Melanie Amaro has a gospel influence in her singing and her choice of Mariah Carey’s ‘Hero’ didn’t do her much good. ‘Hero’ is a BIG number and songs like these invoke a quick comparison with the original singer. She still did better than Marcus. Her next performance was of ‘feeling good’ and got her much kudos from theXFactor audience, as well as from the judges.

Prediction Of TheXFactor Elimination

My guess is that this week we will see the last of Marcus Canty, but that is for America to decide. With the season being almost at its end, the new set of theXFactor contestants must get ready for the next grueling season of auditions and the performances.
